If you are having gas work carried out in your home you should use a Gas Safe registered engineer.
The Gas Safe register replaced the Corgi gas register in Great Britain and the Isle of Man on 1 April 2009.
To carry out gas work, engineers must by law be on the gas register. The gas register exists to protect you, your family and your property.
Incorrectly installed, poorly maintained or badly repaired gas appliances can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning, which causes serious health problems and can be fatal.
Using a Gas Safe registered engineer is the only way to ensure your appliances are safe.
You can ask to see an engineer's Gas Safe register ID card or use the Gas Safe ‘check an engineer service’ online by entering the engineer's gas safe license number.
